Last minute advice:
- To help calm down anxiety or brain fog, try writing down all the things you need to do then organize them from mote important to least important or by due date.
- Don’t be afraid to be funny when writing down your notes. If something funny will help remember a certain fact then do it.
- If you fail something don’t panic. You are not the first and certainly not the last.
- Find out which way you learn the best and try to learn through that.
- My teacher once explained that she wrote all her notes down and placed them every where she would see them, even in the shower.
- If you are worried about certain issues then don’t be afraid to talk to your teacher.
- Make sure to take breaks, a clouded mind does no good when you need it most.

college students: steal your textbooks from the internet
as a college student i know the struggle of paying for tuition, rent, food and and other living costs while making zero income. textbooks add to the struggle with absurd prices by asshole publishers. here’s how you can get quite a lot of your textbooks for free. you may not find all of them but if you can get a few it’ll still save you hundreds in the long run. good luck and study hard!
First thing to try is the easiest: Simply go to google and type this in: filetype:pdf “name of text book"
You can put the title of the book in quotes for more narrowed results and maybe put in the last name of the author or edition to help you find it. For example: filetype:pdf chemistry silberberg
this helped me find my chem book titled “Principles of Chemistry” by an author with the last name Silberberg.

For this step, irst off learn how to torrent. DO NOT DO THIS ON CAMPUS YOU CAN VERY EASILY GET CAUGHT!!! You can learn how to torrent by googling around but basically you use one of these websites that have the textbook file torrent then you use software to download it for you. Pretty simple. Start by downloading Transmission for mac or uTorrent for PC.

Public Trackers (for torrents)

There are a lot more public torrent trackers, see here for more.[48]
These last few are sort of specialized eBook private trackers, google them for some info.
You can also try googling phrases like
'textbook/book title .torrent'or'textbook/book title .pdf'or'textbook/book title ebook'or anything along those lines if you are getting desperate, but beware of malware, viruses, etc.

My own Tips:
- Don’t pull an all nighter regularly. I’ve had eye problems ever since my last one and it’s sucks because I need more help to pay attention.
- If there’s enough natural light, use it. Your eyes and rest are really a priority as an nightowl.
- Caffeine is like your favorite problematic movie/book/tv character. It’s oh so tempting and good when you have a little taste of it, but the long time effects are evil and might try to kill you by betray you by joining Hydra..
- Sleep as often as you can. If you can, do all your homework at once, so you’d have more time to sleep and relax. Most nightowls don’t have the privilege of having an overload of Serotonin, certainly at night.
- Have fun. Don’t make it studying a chore. If you really really REALLY don’t want to study, then don’t. Don’t force it on yourself. It doesn’t matter what others think about it.

hello, friends! since I’ve been a horrible procrastinator all my life and have only started getting vaguely organised about two weeks back, I figured I’d make a post on getting organised (to show that there is hOPE FOR US ALL)!! i know there’s already a ton of posts like this, but here goes anyway
PLANNING
before you do anything,
make a plan.
you know yourself best, and you know what method works for you, so find one and stick with it!! however, if you’ve never really planned before (case in point: me), try a bunch of techniques and see what suits you. For example, I started with a planner, a calendar and a bullet journal and now i’m down to just the bullet journal. figure out what you like and what works for you, friend!!! external motivation isn’t important for everyone, ofc, but i find it works for most people!bullet journaling

- lanes
- fliqlo (flip clock screensaver)
- self control (chrome extension)
- timewarp (chrome extension)
- forest
- habitica

- letternote
- if u don’t wanna spend $50 on a planner i completely feel u…there are a bunch of printables out there such as @theorganisedstudent‘s and @strive-for-da-best‘s! making your own planner is fun+inexpensive 🙂
- some printables for 2016; 1 2 3 4 pinterest
STUDYING
now that you’ve got your external motivation, you’ve got to figure out how to keep it going through next year!! the easiest way to do this, of course, is to set goals. ru ( @gryhffindors ) wrote a great post on this, so you should go check it out!
some study resources:
- khan academy (to learn p much anything)
- wolframalpha (a computational knowledge engine!!)
- math papa (a calculator that shows you the steps omg)
- duolingo (languages!)
- study guides and strategies
- quizlet (flash cards!!! make your own sets!!! 10/10 would recommend)
- magoosh (standardised test prep)
- google scholar (look up research papers, books etc.)
i think that’s enough to get you started on your organisation journey (with me), good luck, friend! i will probably make another (more detailed+better) one of these once 2016 is underway.
well, this was my first (master?)post & i hope to make better & more helpful ones soon.
ALSO thank you all for 450+ followers omg!!

Extra:

Soo since school is beginning again for many of us, I thought I would compile a masterpost of every self care method possible to ease your way back into things!
Stress and Anxiety Reduction
Declutter your space- Clear out all trash, make your bed, and make your desktop space clear. This will make for a cleaner head.
Put yourself in a happy place- Do yoga, take a power nap, whatever you need to put yourself in the most positive head space possible
Put your health first- To state the obvious, drink plenty of water, get enough sleep, and keep up with your personal hygiene. But this also counts for mental health. Put yourself first, your hobbies, your passions, and anything you do to keep yourself sane. Buy yourself nice treats as a reward after completing tough tasks, or reward yourself with anything you like doing.
Planning
Make a bullet journal- A bullet journal can really help you plan out your days/weeks/months to a T and help you stay organized. A lot of stress can be caused by a frantic and unknown schedule, and planning can ease a lot of that.
Take a moment out of your day to sit down and schedule everything out- Take time out of your day to write down what your day has in store. What times are you free? What times are you working, studying, eating, ect…? Make a list of everything your doing then translate that into a bullet journal, planner, or anything else you use to plan.

PSA for everyone writing term research papers right now
Mendeley is the greatest program ever
I want to weep with joy every time I use it
Just click a button when you pull up an article and it will automatically save it to your library
And cite it for you
And you can use it on your mobile devices
And it’s free
Just download it and you won’t have so many urges to kill everyone in sight while writing a research paper
![]()
Thank you so much!
Guys, I cannot stress how amazing this program is.
You can use it to highlight, write notes, mark up, etc. What I do is I highlight all the important jazz, use the comments to write notes on the document, and on the side bar, I write an annotated bib for it for future me. It save everything you write on it forever for you and you can put the articles in folders and organize it.
But that’s not the best part, the best part is that you can access your articles ANYWHERE. Literally anywhere. Forgot your laptop and at a public library? No worries! You can go to the Mendeley website and ACCESS ALL YOUR ARTICLES WITH YOUR NOTES ONLINE. You don’t even have to download the program to access it! It is a life saver and I suggest everyone in academia use it!
