So I started reorganizing all my Korean pdfs and links and realized I’ve ended up with a looot of stuff and have found a lot I haven’t seen passed around. (Especially books past that initial beginner level.) So I’m going to share them all here~ Prepare for a very long post… (Each new update will have new content marked with a *)
Oh hey it’s back on my dash perfect! I was just thinking of this the other day!
OHOHOHO wow the Korean alphabet is awesome. The people who designed it were geniuses and were obviously incredibly schooled in the morphology and phonology of their language. HNNGGG

FUN FACT!
IT WASN’T JUST ANY OLD DUDE WHO DECIDED, “HEY I WANT TO CREATE A KOREAN ALPHABET.”
IT WAS KING SEJONG, WHO ORDERED HIS ROYAL SCHOLARS TO CREATE THIS ALPHABET SO READING AND WRITING COULD BE ACCESSIBLE TO EVERYONE, EVEN THE PEASANTS. IT WAS PURPOSELY DESIGNED TO BE EASY TO LEARN.
SO SHOUT OUT TO KING SEJONG, WHO REALIZED BEFORE MANY OTHERS THE IMPORTANCE OF UNIVERSAL LITERACY.
ok, so some of you remember my previous masterpost of Korean learning materials, but I’ve found even more learning materials so now I’m going to shower you all with knowledge and pdf files. (i thought i’d make a new post so it’s all in one place now)
[ textbooks & pdfs ] – all audio files are .rar files unless stated otherwise
Check out youtube. Seriously, there should be a masterpost just for youtube resources.
Look at your public library or university library. I have found all my resources at my library.
Also, I know this might sound crazy to others, but for my fellow anxiety people, there is no judge from booksellers/librarians when you check out a bunch of language books. Usually I get people who don’t care or people who are really supportive and interested.
Don’t know where to start for self-studying? Look up syllabi from universities. They will outline each unit, which will help you structure your self-study schedule.
If you are going to use kdrama or kpop for language learning, make sure you are doing more than just listening and watching. I have seen a collection of posts of people who are frustrated because they haven’t absorbed the language just by listening to music. Try to learn lyrics. Break down grammar. Write down quotes.
**I am in no way an authority on learning Korean. I don’t guarantee that all of these links still work/ are 100% accurate. I have just used them when I have encountered problems. My recommendations are also not a complete self-study guide. They are just things I learned from experience.
