Recommendations

  • Check out youtube. Seriously, there should be a masterpost just for youtube resources.
  • Look at your public library or university library. I have found all my resources at my library.
  • Also, I know this might sound crazy to others, but for my fellow anxiety people, there is no judge from booksellers/librarians when you check out a bunch of language books. Usually I get people who don’t care or people who are really supportive and interested.
  • Don’t know where to start for self-studying? Look up syllabi from universities. They will outline each unit, which will help you structure your self-study schedule.
  • If you are going to use kdrama or kpop for language learning, make sure you are doing more than just listening and watching. I have seen a collection of posts of people who are frustrated because they haven’t absorbed the language just by listening to music. Try to learn lyrics. Break down grammar. Write down quotes.

**I am in no way an authority on learning Korean. I don’t guarantee that all of these links still work/ are 100% accurate. I have just used them when I have encountered problems. My recommendations are also not a complete self-study guide. They are just things I learned from experience.
